Our evaluator analyzes your interpretations against a clear, shared rubric—not gut feeling. We focus on skills you can learn: recognizing card meanings, applying them in context, and communicating clearly to the seeker.

The Challenge: Objective Evaluation of Subjective Art

Tarot readings blend symbolism, intuition, and storytelling. What makes one reading "better" than another? We built a 4-level framework that measures interpretative competence while leaving room for your unique voice.

4-Level Scoring Framework

Level C (Developing): Basic Recognition

You correctly identify core card meanings and mention key symbols. The interpretation stays close to textbook definitions.

Level B (Competent): Contextual Application

You connect card meanings to the seeker's question and spread positions. The reading feels tailored rather than generic.

"The Three of Swords in the past position suggests you've already navigated grief—what matters now is how that experience informs your current choices."

Level A (Proficient): Integrated Wisdom

You weave cards into a coherent narrative, name the invitation or tension, and offer grounded insight without over-generalizing.

"Three of Swords in the past, The Star in the present—you know what it is to hurt, and you've started to reach for hope. The cards ask: what small step toward trust can you take today?"

Level S (Masterful): Transformative Insight

You offer clarity that shifts the seeker's perspective—naming what was unspoken, reframing difficulty as opportunity, and guiding toward agency without prescribing outcomes.

What We Evaluate

• ✓Structural competency: Using spread positions, card roles, and a logical flow.
• ✓Interpretive skill: Accurate card meanings, context-aware application, and symbolic coherence.
• ✓Communication quality: Clarity, empathy, and actionable guidance.

What We Don't Evaluate

• ✗Personal style: Whether you're poetic or plainspoken—both are valid.
• ✗Beliefs: Spiritual frameworks, reversals, or divination philosophy.
• ✗Artistic expression: Metaphor, imagery, or narrative flair—we reward substance, not polish.

Common Patterns

• Over-simplification: Repeating keywords without connecting them to the question or spread.
• Advice overwhelm: Too many "you should" statements instead of inviting reflection.
• Avoiding difficult cards: Softening the meaning of cards like The Tower or Three of Swords instead of integrating their full message.
